Please be advised that our goal is to ‘Mitigate Risk and Reduce Fear’ for our clients and our team. This policy will be treated as an amendment and will be regularly updated on our website via this page. Please refer to this page for the most current version of our COVID-19 policy.
We appreciate that regardless of the current COVID-19 pandemic, there is still a need for professional and essential home services. Therefore, we strive to adapt our delivery and approach using the methods that follow.
Reduce or remove face-to-face transactions
At Kalamunda Plumbing, we recognise that it is in the interest of all parties involved for us to reduce or entirely remove the traditional face-to-face transaction model that we have always practised, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here is how we plan on doing so:
Office
For health and safety reasons during these uncertain times, our office will be closed to the public until further notice. Rest assured that our staff are still able to process your booking request.
Bookings
Bookings will be taken over the telephone at (08) 9291 6000, or via any form on our website. No face-to-face bookings will be conducted during these uncertain times.
Please note, on every booking and every site visit you will be asked the following questions:
- Have you travelled abroad in the last 14 days?
- Have you any cold or flu-like symptoms?
- Have you had any exposure to anyone that has been either suspected or confirmed of carrying the COVID-19 virus?
- Are you currently waiting on results for tests or under quarantine for COVID-19?
- Have you read our COVID-19 policy?
If you have flu-like symptoms and your intended plumbing job is not an emergency, we respectfully request that you please reschedule!
Worksite preparation
- Please disinfect around the work area. We will then disinfect on completion of work, leaving the work area as we found it.
- Maintain our proposed exclusion zones (retire to another room where practical).
- Ensure clear access is available and minimise our tradesman opening doors, moving furniture and touching all your stuff!
- Be sure to wash your hands before and after our site visit.
Invoices
All invoices will be sent via email. They will also be available by surface mail (Australia Post) upon request.
Payments
We will require credit card payment of your works upon completion and before our plumber/s leave site. Credit card payments can be made over the phone direct to our office. Payment receipts will be sent via email. They will also be available by surface mail (Australia Post) upon request.
To help during these tough times ahead:
- Kalamunda Plumbing will absorb all credit card fees.
- As far as practicable, we will endeavour to charge “at cost” for Personal Protective Equipment – PPE (we will not be “profiting” from the sale of PPE).
Site visits
The nature of our business involves our technicians attending to your location(s) for installation and repair related work on your plumbing services.
With that in mind, we have implemented policy and trained our team diligently on the best way to carry out these transactions.
Attending site and internal works
- Where possible, our technicians will remain outside, communicating with the client via phone call (if necessary), therefore reducing face-to-face transactions.
- Wherever possible, our technicians will thoroughly disinfect the area they have been working in and surrounding areas.
Where our technician are required to enter the premises, they will comply with the following precautions:
- They will wear a face mask.
- They will wear disposable gloves.
- They will wear disposable coveralls and boot protectors if necessary (depending on the nature of the work, such as blocked sinks or toilets).
- They will be carrying a spray bottle with disinfectant spray and a cleaning cloth to wipe down every surface they come-in-contact-with, before and after work.
- They will close doors behind them, so it’s only them in any given space at any given time.
- They will maintain a 1.5m (5 feet) distance from occupants, at all-times.
- They will clean up and disinfect their work area thoroughly on completion.
Compliance certification
If your service call or project requires Compliance Certification, it will be delivered via email. If a physical copy is needed, we will store a record in our office that can be sent to you via surface mail (by Australia Post) on request.
Our commitment to you
After a 66-year family tradition of servicing the Hills and Eastern suburbs, you can be assured that you’re in safe hands. That said, our staff have been advised not to shake hands! Please ensure social distancing as per Government guidelines and Kalamunda Plumbing policies are adhered with.
We also appreciate that it’s our responsibility to be sending out technicians or team members to your home that are fit and healthy, in order to not put anyone at potential risk. To that end, we can assure you that none of our staff who will be attending your premises have been abroad within the last 30 days and that all are symptom-free.
General compliance
Here are some general guidelines that our team has been advised and trained to deliver, both on-site and within their work and social circles.
- No handshaking.
- No hugging or physical contact.
- If they don’t feel 100%, don’t come to work.
- To carry company-provided hand-sanitizer, disinfectant spray and wipes in their cleaning kit at all-times.
- To carry company-provided face masks at all-times.
- No sharing tools unless they have been properly disinfected.
- ZERO smoking policy remains in force.
- ZERO drugs and alcohol policy remains in force.
- Reduce hard surfaces contact like benchtops, etc, where possible.
- Enforce social distancing by maintaining at least 1.5m between others.
Your commitment to us
Please note that we have empowered our team to make judgement calls in scenarios that they deem unsafe or compromising. In this instance, our service techs, or our office staff, will communicate the situation to you directly for your attention.
The safety of our team is of the utmost importance in these uncertain times, and for this reason, we ask that you offer the same level of respect and understanding that we commit to offering you.
Therefore, and as mentioned above, on every booking and every site visit, you will be asked the following questions:
- Have you travelled abroad in the last 14 days?
- Have you any cold or flu symptoms?
- Have you had any exposure to anyone that has been either suspected or confirmed of carrying the COVID-19 virus?
- Are you currently waiting on results for tests or under quarantine for COVID-19?
- Have you read our COVID-19 policy?
If you have flu-like symptoms and your intended plumbing job is not an emergency, we respectfully request that you please reschedule!
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these unprecedented times. As you can see, we’ve thought long and hard about this situation, and we’re doing everything within our power to continue to deliver our professional services as safely as possible.
